Congratulations on your Engagement..now what?
After sharing the news of your engagement with both your parents, make sure you call your insurance company to insure your ring.
Question to ask when choosing a policy:
- Is the ring covered if you lose it accidentally, or only if it's stolen?
- How will the company replace the ring -- with a check? Or will they require you to purchase a replacement through a specified jeweler?
- What if it's a vintage ring or other unique piece? How will the quality and size of your diamond -- and that of a replacement if needed -- be documented?
- Is the ring insured to full cost or a fraction of it?
- How will you need to prove the ring vanished if you make a claim?
- Are there any circumstances that aren't covered? (What if your ring flies off at the circus and gets trampled by elephants, for example?)
Putting a policy on your engagement ring may sound unromantic, but nothing's sweeter than peace of mind.

Black Magic
Diamonds are definitely forever, but if you are looking for a modern edge in your wedding jewelry, try black diamonds. Black diamonds share many of the positive qualities of a clear white diamond. They are extremely hard stones, which makes diamonds an excellent choice for an engagement ring as there is little danger of the diamond chipping, becoming discolored, or generally showing wear. A black diamond also has some of the inner fire that is found in clear white diamonds. It may sound strange, but even very small black diamonds will reflect the light and these sparkle and shine when light hits the facets.

For the "Little" People in your Wedding
If you are including young children in your wedding, did you do anything special to ask your ring bearer(s) and/or flower girl(s)?
I found these cute books on Amazon and think they would be perfect for your littlest attendants. I think that the books will prepare them for their responsibilities and will make a nice memento.

Diamonds are a "Princess" best friend
What fairytale wedding wouldn’t be complete with a Disney diamond ring?
Clothing designer Kirstie Kelly, who launched a line of Disney character-inspired wedding gowns and bridesmaid and flower girl dresses a few years ago, has added a line of diamond engagement and wedding rings to the collection.
Kelly unveiled six rings with matching wedding bands, under the label “Kirstie Kelly for Disney by Mouawad,” as part of Bridal Fashion Week.
Each ring design, like the gowns, is inspired by one of six Disney princesses including Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Princess Jasmine from “Aladdin,” Ariel from “The Little Mermaid,” and Belle from “Beauty and the Beast.”
“It’s different, in the sense that there’s a story behind each princess,” Kelly told the National Jeweler.
The sparklers retail for $1,200 to $6,000.

Candy for the Grown & Sexy
Want to serve something more unique than a specialty cocktail at your wedding? Try liquor lollipops. A Thyme to Cook Catering & Special Events, in North Stonington, CT, recently won the "Most In Mixology" award at the International Catering Association's CATIE Awards Gala in Las Vegasnovative with their "Shooting Stars" liquor lollipops.
The treats are made just like regular lollipops, except they're infused with liquor, like Goldschlager, Chambord, Grand Marnier, and Midori. "Our latest trial was a 'Tequila Sunrise' lollipop with really pretty red and orange tones," says Gina Barber, the company's senior event coordinator. "We can present them in different ways—as a take-away, passed around after dinner as a surprise, or on display at the cocktail hour in a specially-built ' lollipop tree'."

Ditch the Cake in Favor of Pie
For centuries, it has been a tradition to have at least one cake at a wedding, and for those die-hard traditionalists, no wedding without a groom’s cake will do. Many couples don’t care for cake at all, but get them to appease guests, to have in the wedding photos, or just for the sake of having a cake. For those who prefer not to have a cake at their wedding, you now have many alternatives, including the wedding pie.
Wedding pies are a fabulous option because they are versatile and inexpensive. You can have a wedding pie display that would envy any tiered wedding cake, and the flavor, texture, and style choices are endless. There is a pie for everyone and every style: vegan pies, fruit filled, cream, meringue, crumb, silk, chocolate, and so many more.
You can have several cream-topped pies that are decorated with rosettes, flowers that coordinate with your wedding colors, fancy piped swirls or your initials, and you can even top one of your pies with a bride and groom statue. Pieces of pie crust can be made into special shapes or initials as well. You can also have meringue and cream pies topped with pieces of gold leaf or gold dust for a glamorous touch. Weddings should be about personalization and celebrating the new couple’s life together, so don’t be stuck serving cake when you’d rather have pie!

One Necklace Five Ways
While you might wear your wedding dress only once, your wedding-day jewelry will probably have a much more permanent place in your wardrobe. That's why I love this necklace from Victoria Sdoukos Couture Jewels.
The necklace can be worn in five different stylish combinations (check out photos of a few options at Victoria's photostream on flickr) that make the necklace a versatile addition to your newlywed wardrobe. "Pieces of this line should be treasured by being worn, not hidden in a jewelry box," says the designer, who opened Boutique Victoria, a luxury bridal shop, in Chicago in 2005.

Will you be my Bridesmaid?
Asking a friend or relative to be your bridesmaid is your way of saying you love and value them. Ask this question with a gift they will be delighted to have, a beautiful necklace.
You would present her with a note and this necklace. When she says yes, you can tie the necklace around her neck as she makes a wish. When it falls off, her wish should come true! Not only are you honoring her with including her in your bridal party, but also (like a genie) granting her wish!

Unity Cross
The Unity Cross is a multi-piece sculpture that the bride and the groom assemble during the ceremony service. The Unity Cross is hand crafted of Wood and Stone Resin; it stands 14 inches tall and comes with a brushed Brass plate for engraving. There is also a hidden drawer in the base with a scroll of scriptures for your wedding. Once the ceremony is over with they take it home and display the unity cross in their home and show the covenant they made.
The first piece of the cross is what resembles the man. It’s the outer cross, it’s open in the middle, it’s bold, and it’s strong. The cross that resembles the bride is very intricately made, and it’s very feminine looking.
During the wedding service, whenever the pastor or person officiating the wedding starts talking about how God created man bold and strong, the groom will pick up his piece of the cross, and then he talks about how God created woman. They pick up her piece of the cross, and she inserts her piece into the middle of the man’s cross, which completes the sculpture. And then two become one. Then it’s locked together with three brass pegs and once those pegs are inserted, the pastor will say, “What God has put together let no man take apart.” And that really completes the service!

Not your traditional wedding album
When you get those incredible wedding photos back, you want to preserve and display them in the right way. It is really important to create a story time line of your wedding day. Be sure to include your dressing room photos, photos with family, parts of the ceremony reception, and plenty of the Bride and Groom after the ceremony.
Wedding album or story books come in several different styles. You can choice from a coffee book table, magazine style, wrap around cover jackets, high quality leather and stitching.
Besides your own momento your album can make great gifts or even events accessories. You can also have the option to make matching books that are smaller than a coffee table book to give out to your parents, close family members, and bridesmaids. Preserve your memories in a style of your own.
