Cake Monkey

I believe that there’s always an occasion to eat cake and with that in mind, Cake Monkey offers custom designed cakes, dessert tables and unique party favors for Weddings, Sweet 16s, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Showers, Premieres and many other types of events, all prepared with our modern and sophisticated twist.

Like your cakes teeny-tiny and totally delicious? Then go bananas with Los Angeles-based Cake Monkey, a bakery specializing in gourmet versions of your favorite childhood snacks.

Oatmeal cream pie sandwich cookies come filled with maple vanilla buttercream, while Ho Ho-esque black-and-white cakewiches include Valrhona Crunchy Pearls.

Or skip the childhood nostalgia and go straight for the pecan dacquoise. Hand them out in their tinfoil wrapping or as boxed party favors.

Let them drink cake!

For this drink, the sugared rim simulates icing, while the cocktail is reminiscent of a white cake with fruity notes. It’s perfect for a bridal shower, wedding, anniversary or Valentine’s Day date (especially if it’s a V-Day/proposal combo). Also, with only one liquor and two mixers involved, it’s easy on the wallet, a major bonus during a major recession.

Wedding Cake Martini

2 ounces vanilla vodka
2 ounces pineapple juice
2 ounces sweet and sour mix
Combine in a shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain and pour into a raw sugar-rimmed martini glass.

Serves 1

Note: Avoid using the supercheap, neon-looking sweet and sour mix. It creates a less-balanced, less cake-like cocktail.

Sky is the Limit....

With some latest innovation, bakers are literally taking their cakes with new heights with their sky is the limit cake stand. The cake stands and platters allow for tremendous air space between the tiers instead of a cake that is heavy and weighted down the tiers are staked into a tight pyramid making it seems suffocated. These cakes are light and airy for the whimsical feel.
