For decades it was one of society's biggest taboos: the bride with the baby bump having a shotgun wedding, and of the avant-garde brides who would admit to being in the family way, few of them, if any, would have dared walk down the aisle in a white dress.
But times, it would seem, are a-changing. Last year, an estimated 20,000 brides in Britain were pregnant on their wedding day, accounting for 10 per cent of all first-time brides under the age of 45.
And if soaring sales at maternity bridal boutiques are anything to go by, more pregnant women than ever are opting to wear a traditional white dress.
Tiffany London selling bridal dresses claims that there is a steady growth in sales of maternity bridal dresses over the last few years, and it's still growing. It only shows that the society is much more open minded than it was. The dresses are particularly customized to accommodate the baby bump, and designers are skilled to estimate how much a bump will have grown by the big day, with extra fabric added into the dress to help with adjustments if a bump grows faster than expected.

Wonderful post! Love the dresses...I think it's so great to show off your bump at your wedding, why not be proud & flaunt it? After all, it's a beautiful thing...it's love. ;) Nothing shameful about something that comes out of love. Cheers!
These are beautifully designed gowns...better than many others I have seen. Women being able to show their "bump" while they walk down the aisle is certainly a sign of today's zeitgeist. I've often heard my grandmother and others say that a child is a blessing and gift no matter. What's done is done! So, I agree with Jaime that carrying life is a beautiful thing.
Those are all very pretty! My favorite is the 3rd picture!
